So, when should you start thinking about that special piece of jewellery that you would like to have made for that someone special to open on Christmas Day?

Remember, when commissioning a bespoke item of jewellery there is a design process that precedes the manufacturing. Any quality, bespoke jewellery company would want to involve their client in the design process for feedback and amendments prior to manufacture, this adds extra links into the chain and there may be several revisions before signing off the final design ready for manufacture.

It’s also important to remember that you won’t be the only person commissioning a bespoke item required before Christmas so jeweller’s workshops will often be working at near or full capacity in the run up to the festive season. The earlier you commission your item, the better for everyone.

Of course, there are other jewellery gift options available at Christmas. You could always visit a high street store and purchase something off the shelf that requires no design time and no pre-ordering. However, if you are the type of person who doesn’t want a production line piece that thousands of others are giving their partners on Christmas Day then bespoke is the way to go.
